Brett Mills

Texas A&M - Rugby

Over the course of my career (which began in 1994) I have coached rugby, football, basketball and track at the middle school, high school (varsity), collegiate, and national team levels. I worked as the varsity rugby head coach or assistant head coach at St. Thomas High School (Houston, TX) for 21 years. While at STH, our teams won six state titles, 3 Western Regional (U.S.) championships, and made four National Championship tournaments. I have been fortunate enough to coach 14 players who represented the United States in rugby. I have also been the head rugby coach at the University of St. Thomas, University of Houston, and Texas A&M University, where I worked with numerous All Americans and players who went on to play professionally. I am currently the forwards coach at Texas A&M University. I was named Texas High School Rugby Coach of the Year (2011) and United States Olympic Committee Rugby Developmental Coach of the Year (2010). I was selected for the St. Thomas High School Rugby Hall of Fame (2009) and named to the Most Influential People of the Decade List -Athletics for St. Thomas High School (2020). I have also been fortunate enough to work in sports broadcasting as well, having worked as a high school football color analyst for Legacy Sports Radio (2008-2011), and as a radio and television color analyst for Major League Rugby (2017-2018), and I am currently the game day announcer for the Houston Sabercats (MLR).
